A journey into the past
Right in the heart of Toledo, Riad Medina Mudéjar invites you to experience life as it was centuries ago.
Inspired by Roman thermae and traditional Arab hammams, our Arab baths are a unique space where tradition, relaxation, and historic architecture come together in perfect harmony.
Arab Tradition in Toledo
During its golden age between the 8th and 10th centuries, Toledo—known then as madinat al-muluk (the city of kings)—became a melting pot of cultures.
This rich coexistence shaped many local customs, including the use of Arab baths, which blended the sophistication of Roman thermae with exquisite Arab aesthetics.
At Medina Mudéjar, this tradition is brought back to life with great respect for the original architecture, including historic cisterns, a 12th-century Islamic wall, and 17th-century tiles.

What makes our Arab Baths unique?
A space designed to awaken the senses

17th-century tiles, the scent of Al-Andalus, soft lighting, and the gentle sound of flowing water create a magical ambiance that transports you to another era.

Our design preserves the original structure of the building, featuring an irregular patio, a 15th-century cistern, a 12th-century Islamic wall, and Roman columns with original domes supporting the pools.

More than just a bath — it’s a sensory journey to unwind, reconnect, and be embraced by tranquillity.
